Rolling Hills Cane Corso - Temperament, Protection, and Agility

Sales Policy

We at Rolling Hills Cane Corso placing our dogs and puppies very seriously. When adopting a puppy from Rolling Hills Cane Corso you are committing to a lifelong companionship. We want to ensure that our customers have done their research on the Cane Corso and understand the life long commitment. Even with the best breeding we can’t promise a great dog if the owner does not take over as the pack leader. Always remember this is a working breed and they need stimulation, therefore they are obedient and loyal because of their training as well as their breeding. We encourage obedience training and depending on your dogs energy level and your lifestyle you can also do activities like protection work, Schutzhund, herding, agility, fly ball, conformation, tracking, therapy work, rally and more! All dogs are different and each take to training differently. Make sure you find a trainer who fits your dog the best. Once you have received your puppy it’s a good idea to start in puppy obedience or give them a job to establish good behavior that will carry into adult hood.

Color choice is an option with us but if a family chooses color they will be paying for a pick of litter dog. This is because we do not guarantee color and color is not our primary goal for each litter. This means before the spot is held, $1,000 will be paid to the breeder to get that puppy. If the deposit is not paid before the litter hits the ground then we will not guarantee the puppy you are looking for will go to your home. We have a first come first serve policy.

Price of Puppies is to be paid out by 4 weeks of age. From the time the puppies hit the ground to 4 weeks is when puppies must be paid out. If all monies is not received by this point then all of the money will be moved to the next litter, unless all of the puppies are not sold from the litter that money was originally put on.

We at Rolling Hills Cane Corso have the right to refuse the sale of our puppies if we feel the buyer is not the right choice for this breed.

All of our puppies come with their tails docked, dew claws removed, are current on shots and are de-wormed before coming home. We offer a two year genetic abnormality health guarantee. You have 72 hours to have your puppy examined by a vet once they are in your possesion or your contract is null and void of health issues. By placing your deposit on a litter you agree to our Policy page that coinsides with our Contract.

Cherry Eye, Entropian, Ectropion, and missing/crooked teeth are common conditions found in all Mollosser breeds and are not covered under the health contract.

Companion puppies come with a spay/neuter contract and the option of having their ears cropped. All companion puppies must be spayed/neutered no later than six months of age.   All breed/show quality puppies are required to have their hips checked before breeding, and the earliest a female can be bred is 18 months of age. No Rolling Hills puppy is ever to be bred with anything other than another Cane Corso. Any money paid towards the puppy will NOT be refunded. Color is not guaranteed.

If for any reason you are unable to keep your puppy/dog, Rolling Hills has the first option to find it a new home. If you decide that you do not want the dog and you don’t want another one in exchange, you accept responsibility of your choice and NO monies will be refunded. If you are wanting another dog, you will be given a puppy of comparison and you will be responsible for paying the shipping charges. If a puppy/dog is abused in any way Rolling Hills has the right to reclaim the dog at any time and all contracts will be void and no money will be returned to the buyer.

Prices below are an average and will change depending on the litter, especially imports. Rolling HIlls Kennels reserves the right to change the cost of a specific puppy depending on the litter. Please contact us on prices for a specific puppy.

The cost of shipping is usually $500 ($415 freight charge, $40 shipping certificate, $45 shipping kennel), We at Rolling HIlls Cane Corso are not held to this price, the puppy customer will pay the full amount for the freight charge, shipping certificate and shipping kennel. We ship our puppies out of Denver and it is the responsibility of the new owner to make arrangements that work with the breeders schedule. New owners will also pay the price of gas accordingly. This means if we have more than one puppy shipping out on the same day then we will split the gas equally among the new families, otherwise the family will have the sole responsibility of paying for the fuel there and back. We ship our puppies in a vari kennel, certified for use of shipping, that fits the puppy. For an older or larger puppy, the kennel and shipping cost will increase. If the puppy is 12 weeks or older there will be an additional $40 charge for a required rabies vaccine. When shipping your puppy we will provide the health guarantee, plenty of bedding, and proper food/water dishes.
If we feel that the puppy is not ready to go home yet due to health, weight, or maturity we will keep the puppy at our kennel for no additional charge. However, if the Buyer is not prepared to pick up their puppy when they are ready we will keep the puppy in our home for $15 a day. This includes food, socialization, play time, and general care. While your puppy is with us they will begin crate training and some basic training.
Once your final payment has been made and you have signed our contract and we have received it, then your puppy will be ready to come home to you or be picked up.

STUD SERVICE
We offer stud service to approved females only. The bitch must be at least 18 months old, have certified papers, and be hip certified. We want to ensure that the breeding is a good match so we will take a look at both dogs and help to determine which male is a good fit if at all. Please call for more details. PUPPY CARE AND TRAINING We will work with you and your family to make sure you get the right puppy that meets your energy and lifestyle. Keep in mind that even after all of that puppies are what you make of them. You have to be consistent and patient with your puppy. Once you bring them home we urge you to stimulate your puppy by hand feeding them and playing with their food while they’re eating so they understand you gave them the food and it’s a privilege to receive. Make noises while they eat, vacuum around them, drop pans in the kitchen, clap your hands, sing and shout around them, get creative! This will help desensitize them to scary loud noises and they will not learn to fear such noises as a thunderstorm or objects around your house. We like to take our dogs for walks right when a storm is moving in so the noise of thunder becomes a part of their walk and it doesn’t bother them. Don’t change your everyday household routine to your puppy’s comfort level. Take your puppy every where you can to teach them manners in public. Remember, you are setting an example to the public for your breed so encourage good behaviors and correct negative ones while they are young. Leash training should start right when they come home.

All puppies love to run and play, so the first couple of times you put their leash on they will more than likely fight and throw on the brakes or even better they will cry! Do not give into these behaviors and stay positive, eventually they will begin to associate their leash as a fun experience with you.

If you don’t want your puppy to develop bad habits never allow them in the first place. When we are house training our puppies the first rule they learn is that the kitchen is off limits. We achieve many positive results by doing this because they never learn to counter surf, dig in the trash, beg at the dinner table, or injure themselves from the stove or oven. They also learn to stay in certain rooms in our house and are not aloud to roam our house unattended, this is how precious items get eaten, potty accidents happen or they ingest something that could result in an expensive surgery or even worse, their death. We encourage and love crate training. We recommend a 48" heavy wire kennel.
We prefer the wire over the hard plastic kennel because this is a protection breed and they like to feel like they can see their whole environment and still watch over their home and family. This becomes their "den" and it helps to keep them from getting into dangerous situations while you are not around. However, we always have plenty of entertainment in their kennels to keep them happy. We give our puppy’s pigs ears, curly Q’s, Tracheas, Bully Sticks, Raw Bones, Kongs with fun frozen treats in the center, even frozen veggies!
If you truly want a happy content dog for the rest of their life then walk your dog every day! If the dog is walking you, then you cannot possibly be walking the dog. Your dog should never be allowed to walk in front of you or pull unless otherwise invited to! This is where the Cane Corso stands above all others with respect to their pack leaders.
